Northwest Passage (revised)

When I put my showreel DVD together recently, I did a few refinements on this animated history of Arctic exploration. There’s an exhibition now on at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich on this very subject, which I’m looking forward to seeing.

Paintings

This in an exercise in Photshop and After Effects; the idea was to ‘take apart’ some classic paintings into a number or individual layers and elements then put them back together to form a three-dimensional space.

A Drive in Mallorca

Don’t you hate holiday videos that go on for hours? Here’s a two-minute edit of our holiday in Mallorca last summer, with a heavy helping of After Effects trickery… basically this was just an excuse to practice with that program, which is a lot of fun to use.

The Great Man


This is a personal project using After Effects..
The voice was recorded in Leicester Square in 1987, when I first came to London. I’d just treated myself to a Sony Walkman cassette recorder and this character came along and started reminiscing at me, so I taped him for a few minutes. This is that recording, slightly re-edited and cleaned up as best I can. I should add that this was made purely as an exercise in using After Effects – it has no connection at all with my own political position-!
