In 2007, an agency that wishes to remain nameless was hired by a client who wishes to remain nameless to commission a film for a website promoting a petition to free Mikhail Khodorkovsky, the former oligarch imprisoned in Siberia by Putin’s regime. Nominally, he’s there for tax evasion. The fact that he’s a potential political threat… well, enough said.

Possibly my best job ever was working on The Secret Show. The characters were fun to animate, and we got the chance to add a lot of our own personal touches to the animation. Here’s a montage of some of my contribution to the show. Of course all I did here was move the characters around; credit for the design, writing layout, music and voices goes to about a hundred other people – though I must give a special mention to Dave Elden, to whose divinely inspired production schedules this show owes much.

Here’s some photos from the woods around Perstein, Near Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic. The battery in my camera had died so I had to take these with my phone. There’s no Photoshop work involved here except the slightest bit of cropping and colour/contrast alteration – the wavy effect in some of them was done on the spot. There’s a simple trick to it!
